Hello, and welcome to my 1 acre plot, here in rural Dumfries and Galloway! Here’s where most of the magic happens (with a lot of hard work, many pesky slugs and hares, and a fair bit of swearing!)
I started preparing the raised beds just after we moved here in spring 2022, and had the 25-foot polytunnel constructed that autumn. It’s been a huge success, meaning I can grow many things I didn’t expect to be able to – grapes, sweetcorn, padron peppers and many more. So far, I have about 50 different fruit and vegetables growing.
The growing area is about one third of the acre, with the second part reserved for the chickens and pigs (The Paddock) and the final space (The Garden) for our whippets to race around in.
