The polytunnels have been cleared and a layer of chicken manure, straw and compost added to the beds, which I’ve then covered with polythene to keep them damp and warm. I’ve sown some cauliflower, for overwintering in the polytunnel. This will hopefully give an early crop. The hens are being given high protein treats during their moult, to help with new feather growth. A couple of months rest for the garden now, before the whole growing cycle starts again. I’ll still be busy – I’ve got a couple of new raised beds to make!
